Can you believe that we are about to go back to school??? Summer just started! Alas, lazy days are soon behind us and alarm clocks are in our near future. However, the thrill of back-to-school never ceases to return for me. "Bouquets of freshly sharpened pencils" and new first day of school outfits still make me slightly giddy.
One of the favorite traditions that we have created with Hope is to enclose a little note in her lunch box every Monday. Sometimes other days too, but Mondays need a little note of encouragement, right?
I try to make them fun, something that will bring a smile to her face. A little joke, riddle or play on words.
I'm not creative enough to come up with these myself, but I've found a plethora of free printables out there that fit the bill. These are a few of our favorites.
Knock-knock jokes are always a winner.
Seasonal ones are fun.

This is her last year of elementary school (sniff, sniff) so I fear that cute lunch box notes may not be acceptable in the future. I'll have fun doing them this year...and maybe I'll sneak one in once in awhile in 6th grade. Middle schoolers need notes from mom sometimes too :)
